PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
June 2009
The summer is finally here and
hopefully good weather. I attended the Region One Show in Del Mar last month
and nearly froze. I would like to commend the Region One Director Nancy
Harvey and her show committee for a wonderful show. In spite of the weather
it was a at show with some beautiful classes.
The AHASC Scholarship Committee met and
reviewed the applications for our 2009 scholarships. They chose two
recipients who will each receive $1,000 scholarships. Congratulations to
them both. In addition, the club will once again give a $1,000 scholarship
to Cal Poly University.
The Fall Santa Barbara Show is getting
closer. Remember to sponsor a class and support your club. We really
need all of the support that we can get in order for this show to be a
success. This years' theme is "Salute the Red, White, and Blue". Put those
Labor Day show dates on your calendar and try to attend.
Our next meeting is our summer pool party.
It will be held at Janet Stevenson's home on Sunday August
9th
at 4:00PM. We will barbeque hamburgers and hot dogs and of course
make smores. It really is a relaxing and fun time. Look for details in the
newsletter and give Janet a call and let her know you will be there.
