PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

December 2011

Well here I am with not only the last president's message of the year but my last one as president. As many of you probably know, I am starting my term as the new Region One Director. I thought it might be too much to repeat once again as club president and also be director. I will continue to be on the board and of course be a co-manager of the Fall Santa Barbara Show.

Your new president for 2012 is Laurie Henkel who is like a member of the Hughes family. Laurie has been with us since her days as a student at Cal Poly. She currently teaches science at El Roble Intermediate School in Claremont and is the mother of two great kids. She has three horses who live at our ranch in Chino Hills so we see her all the time. She has also been your newsletter editor, a job which she has agreed to continue to do. She will make a great president for the AHASC.

Our Christmas party at Segerstrom Center of the Arts in Costa Mesa will have been held by the time you get the newsletter. We saw the musical "White Christmas".  So sorry to those who called at the last minute to get tickets. It was one of those events that we had to have reservations in early for.

I want to take this opportunity to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May your Christmas season be filled with the love of family and friends.

Sincerely,

Mary Ann Hughes
